At The Bemrose School and Sixth Form, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, from Primary through to Sixth Form, have access to free, impartial careers information, advice and guidance. Our aim is to help pupils develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to make informed decisions about their future education, training and career pathways.

Pupils are provided with opportunities to engage with the world of work through a comprehensive careers programme, which includes compulsory work experience placements, enabling them to gain valuable insight into workplace expectations and develop essential employability skills.

Our careers programme is delivered throughout pupils’ educational journey, from Year 7 to Year 13, while pupils in our Primary School benefit from a dedicated Careers and Aspirations Programme and a range of employer encounters designed to broaden horizons and raise aspirations from an early age.

Throughout the academic year, pupils participate in a variety of meaningful careers-related activities, including:

• Visits to Post-16 and post-18 #education and training providers
• Enterprise and Employability Days
• Mock Interviews
• CV and Application Workshops
• Cultural and Educational Visits
• Employer Encounters and Workplace Insight Sessions
• Careers Fairs and Networking Opportunities

Every pupil at The Bemrose School and Sixth Form will have access to personalised one-to-one careers interviews with our in-house Careers Lead and Careers Guidance Professional, Claire Amos, ensuring they receive tailored support and guidance at key decision-making points throughout their education.

A key strength of our programme is the strong partnership we have developed with a wide range of local businesses, employers and industry professionals. Working closely with employers enables us to remain informed about current labour market trends while providing pupils with high-quality enterprise activities, workplace experiences and opportunities to develop the skills valued by employers.
